Plexi aquarium (Tropicarium)
Our trophies include the Tropicarium, one of the many attractions at the Budapest Zoo and Botanical Garden that attracts large crowds. Our largest curved 2-piece glued plexi element measures 5 metres x 2 metres when installed and is 80 mm thick. The thickness of the plexiglass is determined primarily by the height of the water column, its geometry, not its volume.
The self-supporting part of the aquarium shown in the picture is the retaining wall, whose frame for the replacement of the viewing window is sealed with a variety of sealants and adhesives to ensure flexible installation and hermeticity.
We also make aquariums that are tank-like, self-supporting, not supported by a retaining wall, but by gluing the Plexiglas to create a 360-degree experience.
